Browser Bars
Choosing the Toolbars that display
at the top of your Web Browser software

The Toolbars, pictured below, should be displayed at the top of the (Microsoft) Internet Explorer web browsing software.

Having these toolbars visible will provide you with the best Internet Experience that will be easy to use.
The reason these samples are so long, is that my computer is set to 1024 (wide) x 768 (high) resolution - so that I don't have to scroll as much when viewing web pages.

Notice: The Menu. File - Edit - View - Favorites - Tools - Help
Then beneath that is the row of Buttons
Then beneath that is the Address Bar. This is where you should type in the www addresses; not in a Search Box.
The Search Box is for searching, like Google or some other search engine.

To change the Toolbars at the top of the web browser software, click on View > Toolbars
If locked, un-toggle the lock by clicking on Lock the toolbars, which will remove the checkmark. Then you can modify the other toolbars.
Standard Buttons should have a checkmark.
Address Bar should have a checkmark.
Notice that Links is not checked. Links is pretty much useless to me... because it lists only websites that have paid Microsoft to be listed there.

The Status Bar is the gray bar at the bottom of the browser window. It displays the percentage as a page is loading and also displays where a link will take you if you click on a link.
Status Bar should also have a checkmark.

As a comparison, here's what the Browser Bars in Avant browser software look like:

The layout is pretty much the same, but there are additional tools available on the View Menu to choose from.
I like the Search Box because it does not have any advertising (yet...)
Personally, I like the Menu choices better, and the additional Window Control boxes in the upper right corner. The Window Control boxes allow me to easily minimize, maximize or Cascade the windows.
I also like the built-in
Pop-Up blocker that Avant browser has. Combined with the 1USA MegaSpeed service, I get no pop-up ads and the pages come in faster - because almost all of the advertising is blocked. !!

Avant browser software is a small (1.5 meg) downloadable file. 1USA Subscribers can download the software from the private
Members website and get free Tech Support help from 1USA too.

To change your browser's settings, remember to unlock it first.
